Welcome to my blog

About this Blog

Hello all, and welcome!

In my blog, I discuss Americanophobia, politics, political extremism (my rantings about the extreme right and the extreme left), anthropology, crime news, psychology, LOTS of humor, and try to debunk common rumors spread about the American people. The variety of topics I discuss are in 360 posts within 28 different categories.

To get to know my blog and its history in depth, feel free to read this. Or read this if you want to get to know more about me personally. If not, keep reading. It’s the shorter version. :)

LET’S GET THIS OUT OF THE WAY, FIRST

I attack viciously the FAR Left, the FAR Right, the Hypocritical Christian and Islamic FundaMENTALists, and the Americanophobic Canadian and European sub-culture with wit, unforgiving sarcasm, sass, hyperbole, shrill, satire, stridency, humor, and laden with a bit of venom on an “as needed” basis. If you are not comfortable with my writing style or the above adjectives, please hit that back button and move on. This blog is not for you. Nor is this blog for the squeamish, politically correct, or to those that get offended easily.

With an Ann Coulter style sass and a Keith Olbermann style ham, I will either enlighten you, entertain you, or make your blood boil.

Lots of my writings are satire. It’s up to YOU to decide whether I am serious or not. Even at the risk of being misunderstood or flamed, I never tell my readers in my own entries if I am using satire (that would take the fun out of it). There are hints, however. You just have to be on your toes to find them.

Only the strong-minded survive here.

I’ve been blogging on and off for about 4 years and my somewhat “recent” posts have been devoted to Americanophobia. My goal is to prove how irrational Americanophobia is and its hypocrisy most of all.

You’d never expect one who often says, “America’s going to the shits” would be writing posts about Anti-Americanism. But this is the case with me, and the more you get to know me, the more you’ll understand where I’m coming from.

Americanophobia, which is predominantly expressed by the Canadians and the British, is the last and latest form of “acceptable prejudice”. If you replace “fucking Americans” with another nationality, creed, or race, it would be frowned upon. Many Americans and those elsewhere living in the world are unaware how commonplace Americanophobia has become. The amount of awareness in the US concerning Americanophobia is little to none. That’s why it’s so easy to be a Americanophobe. We Americans don’t fight back because either we’re ignorant of its magnitude, we don’t really care, or we are sugar-coating the prejudicial attacks and prefer to be in denial of it BECAUSE we prefer to attack our OWN people instead! The reason why Americans don’t know they’re hated is because our media does not make an issue out of it. Our media is guilty of harping on Anti-Muslimism in trying to get us to think how much they hate us, but as far the rest of the world, if anything, Americans (especially the neocons) think that they are loved.

And ironically enough, I get the most support from Liberals regarding Americanophobia!

I leave linkage and blog entries with the intent to give perspective and balance to what I find to be extreme and exaggerated. My goal is to offer reasonable arguments without hurting those Canadians and Europeans who aren’t part of the “hate by default” and ever so pompous Americanophobic Crusade. You will know if I’m talking to YOU or not. If you are offended, you’re most likely one of them.

It may appear as though I’m striking against other nations and guilty of the same thing. I am hoping that you’re rational enough to be able to see how clearly in my blog, the acute distinction I make between Canadians and Americanophobic Canadians… and so on. But let the truth be known by my substantiated arguments, that it IS fact that at the very least 40% of Canadians, South Americans, New Zealanders, Australians, and Europeans blindly hate Americans even before setting foot into the US! I talk about the Americanophobic Canadians and Europeans more than other groups because they are the most vocal about the American people on the internet in the form of “school yard bullying”.

What is Americanophobia? Most people don’t know what it means. You’ll find out here.

While everyone (including myself), as part of being a human being, does have a little prejudice in them for whatever reason, what differentiates a good person from a bad person is whether or not they let their bigotry be known publicly. I stand against this. I don’t like Hitler, Kim Jong II, Hussein, or Gaddafi, but you don’t see me, or others, bashing the Koreans, Germans, Iraqi’s or Lybians.

I am not alone. I get my inspiration from people like David Kaspar, Ray Drake, (German citizens) Erik Svane: (The bilingual weblog that dares to go beyond “ideas” and “opinions” to see what lies hidden underneath) (an American), Bruce Bawer (another American) and Tim Montgomerie (an Englishman) who are fighting this with me. However, I am the only American blogger who is doing this.

A while back, I ran into a French blogger who’s working on a similar project defending his people from the harsh rumors and disturbing prejudices regarding the French. And another French blogger as well. Feel free to visit their sites too.

I define terms subjectively in my blog. Please see my glossary for further details. Please also help yourself to the Links section of my blog as well. My entire side-bar speaks louder and tells the story better than any amount of text written in my blog entries. You’ll notice that most of the articles on Americanophobia are written by Canadians, Germans, and those from the UK! If you don’t like what you’re hearing, take it up with THEM – not me. Don’t kill the messenger! If you still think that I am hearing voices, this thread on Facebook and the links on this page should be an eye-opener. Oh yeah. Speaking of “eye openers“….. Reading my FAQ is also recommended as well, as the questions that YOU may have and the assumptions that YOU may make will get cleared up before YOU start reading into things that aren’t there. Western education is going down the tubes, so even if you clarify points hundreds of times on your blog, there will always be those people who still won’t ‘get it’ as exemplified here which inspired this post.

Your feelings are important to me. Feel free to comment on my blog or email me with hate mail, love mail, suggestions or whatever is on your mind. I do take kindly to criticism so long as it’s constructive. Please see my disclaimer for any privacy concerns regarding your email to me. Also, feel free to let me know if you have any problems viewing my site or with the layout. I’m open to your feedback on that as well.

Please be mindful that I have several people contributing to this blog. You’ll know if it is a guest blogger as it will be categorized as such. For some of them, English is their SECOND language. I correct/edit as much as I can without trying to take the spirit and uniqueness away from them – so some things I leave alone.

With that said, I am open to feedback (on these terms), and certainly hope you enjoy my blog! :D

More about me:

I was born and raised in Miami, FL in August of 1968. After graduating from college, I moved to Japan to become an English teacher and lived there for 6.5 years (the best years of my life aside from my college days!) It’s been 10 years since I’ve lived there and I still miss that place (especially Tokyo) more than any other place I’ve lived. The Japanese are also not Americanophobic. As a matter of fact, I was treated significantly better in their country as opposed to my own.

After coming back from Japan, I went back to Florida for two months, and from there, I moved to Venice, California where I spent five years. It’s also the place where I met my husband. In 2004, I moved to Somewhere, TX to be closer with my family who all reside here now. In college, I majored in Communication Arts and minored in Photography.

I haven’t uploaded all my photos from living in Japan yet, but you can see my work in progress here.

My Political Profile can be found here.

My interests include yoga, pilates, dancing, aviation, general research, photography, debating issues, anthropology, sociology, psychology, listening to music, karaoke, computers, watching movies, traveling, swimming, cycling, going to the beach, brushing up on my Japanese, and anything and everything that deals with Japan.

….and apparently, I swear a lot. I have been given the name, “swearmouth” by a good ole buddy of mine, Juan McDaniel.

The Blog-O-Cuss Meter - Do you cuss a lot in your blog or website?

WHO AM I AND WHAT KIND OF BLOG DO I HAVE?

Well, according to this site, I fall under the INTP (in need of toilet paper?) Thinking Type.

The logical and analytical type. They are especialy attuned to difficult creative and intellectual challenges and always look for something more complex to dig into. They are great at finding subtle connections between things and imagine far-reaching implications.

They enjoy working with complex things using a lot of concepts and imaginative models of reality. Since they are not very good at seeing and understanding the needs of other people, they might come across as arrogant, impatient and insensitive to people that need some time to understand what they are talking about.

  1. i updated the link, hun.

  2. Hey Virgomonkey,
You left me a post on my blog and told me to check out yours, so I did. Great blog!! Yep, I’m definitely up for the fight – let’s fight this disgusting anti-Americanism!! Let me know what you think we should do. Let’s keep in touch…

  3. VM, Thanks for coming by, and for your comment. I want to consider your suggestions over some time.

In the meantime, I suggest that you may want to check out {David’s} Medienkritik which is about anti-Americanism (especially in the press) in Germany. Also, Anti-anti-Americanism. Both are in my sidebar.

I suggest Vanishing American and VA’s Forum, too.

  4. Karen, you just got added to my blogroll. Thank you very much for your kind words..we Aussies defend our friends

    Always.

  5. Hey, thanks for the welcome comment. I like the part about the dictators. xD Well all I can say that is that we should all keep fighting for what we believe in. But then again, most people tend to think that one bad apple spoils the bunch. Meh, humans, can you blame em?

  6. Anytime! People need to realize that there are others out there who do love America and are tired of the constant statements otherwise. Keep going!

    どうも有り難う御座います。

  8. あ~座念ながら、けいこさんもう結婚しました!かわいい女でしょ。

  9. Thanks so much. After spending an evening being accosted by European YouTube commenters advocating genocide against “stupid fat americans LOL no culture stupid fat,” it was wonderful to discover your blog (and to read the comments by positive Europeans/Canadians/etc.).

  10. Jennifer, my guess is that these are the same Europeans that are “peace-loving” and “against the death penalty”. ;-)

  11. Oh, indeed. :) Hypocrisy is the unifying theme of anti-Americanism. (Well, that and “stupid fat.” ) Here is my all-time favorite (Canadian) anti-American YouTube comment (my friend Pat aptly said he could feel himself shedding a few IQ points as he read it):

“I hope Barack Nigger Obama wins the presidency. You know why? So he can enslave you fucking white trash losers. You enslaved niggers for many years back in the 19th century. It’s time for the niggers to enslave you white assholes! If you vote for Clinton that’s because you think a woman is superior to a man. And if you think that, you’re ignorant. Men and women are created equal. I hope that nigger wins the race and turn you mother fuckers into repentant slaves.”

  12. Hm. It’s unfortunate to say that’s not the first time I’ve heard a comment like that. At every mention of black people, you can count on it – 9 times out of 10, American slavery will be mentioned.

    Sad. :(

Canada conveniently forgets her less than pretty past of being guilty of slavery as well, not to mention how horribly they treated Asians and their own natives. There’s a lot to be learned about slavery all over the world. At one point, even whites were slaves. But when other countries think of slavery, all they know is America. And they call us “ignorant”. The double standards are amusing at best!

Now, here’s the most ridiculous part of that imp’s argument. If Obama wins, it is due to our voting for him (if he wins the popular vote). Now, if we voted him in, doesn’t that indicate that we are OK with a black president and therefore *not* white trash. Hell, there are even non-white trash that don’t want to vote for him. They obviously don’t know what “white trash” is. And on top of that, why are we responsible for something our ancestors did in THE 19TH CENTURY or just before we were even born? LOL

Aaah… ya gotta love the Anti’s. EH?

  13. Hey there, Tix — I wanna see the pix of you doing Yoga and Pilates — Please send me directly to that photo album ASAP ;-P

  14. Haha! Is THAT what drew you here??? Ya lil’ rascle. :)

(I was actually thinking about making a Yoga blog in addition to this one about my yoga fun.)

  15. u called you prezidential candidate Mrs. Sarah Palin a fellow American who is a governor and a mother a thrash in another webcite he did she do to offend u

@ very good example of Ugly American

  16. She is trashy in my opinion. I don’t care if she’s a mother, a zombie, a turtle, or an alien! She did nothing to me, but that is my opinion of her. So, if your disagreeing with me on that alone makes me an “Ugly American”, so be it. But keep in mind, hon, that your labeling me as an “Ugly American” is no different from me calling Palin trashy. By the way, the McCain that your sorry ass is voting for is the same McCain who called his wife a CUNT. Hmm…… Another “Ugly American”? ;-)

    Pot…kettle…pot…kettle…

    Have a nice day.

  17. I didn’t see an email address, or maybe I was just too lazy to look. If you haven’t seen it yet, this article is full of awesome.
“European Anti-Americanism is fueled by ignorance”
    http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/anti-americanism-in-europe-is-fueled-by-ignorance/

Pretty shocking (in the most hilarious way) stuff. 50% of Britons think polygamy is legal in the U.S. (lol!) Yes, we’re all 19th century Mormons!

  18. Haha! Daniel, I have so many articles on Americanophobic European ignorance regarding the US and her people, but you can never have enough. I will surely use that article for a future post of mine. Very interesting read.

    Thank you, bunches!

  19. Thanks for stopping by my blog, virgomonkey! Yep, I’m an atheist myself, and it’s a great idea to consider us all getting together to form an ‘alliance-of-sorts.’ We’re about as discriminated against and misunderstood as any faction of the American populace, aren’t we?

I love the title of your blog! I’m often mistaken for being some kind of ‘radical liberal extremist,’ but I can’t stand either extreme, left or right. You really nailed it with the title of your blog in itself!

  20. Hi virgomonkey,

Well I said I was looking forward to reading your blog, but have had to stop after reading: If you can tolerate Ann Coulter, you can tolerate me. NObody can tolerate Ann Coulter. Nobody in their right mind, anyway.

  21. LOL – What are you talking about? Ann Coulter is a comedian. She’s funny as hell so long as you don’t take her seriously. I don’t even know if she believes half of what she says. Or at least that is my hope.

    Thanks for stopping by, Ian.

  22. Well? Being a part of this little hoopla is going to be interesting to say the least!
Ann Coulter is in fact a comedian, and she is a 20th Century fox too!
Sarah Palin hunts, enough said! That alone put her into my good graces!
Jennifer pulled up a post that reflects so much misunderstanding about Americans and the way we think that it would be hilarious if only so many people in other places didn’t think like that.

I make it a point to pick on those from the “Hate America First” branch of humanity. Sort of like when I was in Rhodesia and these people were bashing America pretty loudly. I asked one of them if the food he was eating was good. He replied that it was indeed very good. I pointed out that the package was from USAFID, and that the writing said “A gift from the people of the United States of America.” He stopped eating, no, not because of what I had said. Because a Muggabe sycophant had put a bullet through his head, and had stolen the food… At least the thug admitted that he enjoyed American food.

  23. Salam kenal,
