Besides being a nation of backwards nationalistic, paranoid, arrogant, fat, lazy, greedy, racist, spoiled-rich, slutty, ignorant, stupid, humorless, loud, obnoxious, gum-chewing, carbon-emitting, gun-toting, bible-thumping, baby-killing, flag-waving and self-centered rednecked Neanderthals living in the most disgusting chunk of the globe, have we done ANY good? Any good at all?
Could backwards nationalistic, paranoid, arrogant, fat, lazy, greedy, racist, spoiled-rich, slutty, ignorant, stupid, humorless, loud, obnoxious, gum-chewing, carbon-emitting, gun-toting, bible-thumping, baby-killing, flag-waving and self-centered rednecked Neanderthals be capable of anything deemed worthy or noble?
Since we already know that America is the most evil country to ever have existed from her very beginning until her very present and even into the future, why don’t today we discuss what good she has done.
Agree to disagree, but I see some nice things. And I’m proud of them.
Not all Canadians hate us, and here’s one example: (video here)
We invented a couple of things along the way as well: (video here) (but you must start watching from 4:30 to see the part about US inventions)
More American inventions can be found here. Even the British have recognized us here for our developments as well.
The “news” on the Americanophobe’s television only talks about the dirt on our soldiers, but never ever do they speak of what good they do: (video here)
“Freedom Never Cries”, and more on the role of the American military can be found here.
What about Foreign Aid?
THERE is a certain familiarity to the concomitant series of actions and reactions when disaster strikes in the world. The US stands ready, willing and able to offer assistance. It is often the first country to send in millions of dollars, navy strike groups loaded with food and medical supplies, and transport planes, helicopters and floating hospitals to help those devastated by natural disaster.
Then, just as swift and with equal predictability, those wedded to the Great Satan view of the US begin to carp, drawing on a potent mixture of cynicism and conspiracy theories to criticise the last remaining superpower. When the US keeps doing so much of the heavy lifting to alleviate suffering, you’d figure that the anti-Americans might eventually revise their view of the US. But they never do. And coming under constant attack even when helping others, you’d figure that Americans would eventually draw the curtains on world crises. But they haven’t. At least not yet.
So it was last week. The US stood ready to help the cyclone-ravaged Burmese people. It did not matter that Burma’s ruling junta was no friend of the Americans. With more than 100,000 people feared dead and many more hundreds of thousands left destitute, US Air Force cargo planes loaded with supplies and personnel started arriving in nearby Thailand to begin humanitarian operations in Burma.

Actually, we were a lot faster to neglect our own citizens (Hurricane Katrina) than the Southeastern Asian countries when they went through the Tsunami.
And last but not least, you have us to thank for two things (if anything at all):
(1) For being THE biggest spreaders and broadcasters of Anti-Americanism, and
(2) if it weren’t for Anti-Americanism (created by Americans), other countries would be forced to face their own shortcomings without a crutch or a scapegoat to fall back on. You also wouldn’t have anyone to disagree with.
Now, that’s not quite too bad for being a nation of backwards nationalistic, paranoid, arrogant, fat, lazy, greedy, racist, spoiled-rich, slutty, ignorant, stupid, humorless, loud, obnoxious, gum-chewing, carbon-emitting, gun-toting, bible-thumping, baby-killing, flag-waving and self-centered rednecked Neanderthals living in the most disgusting chunk of the globe in the world.
As much as I loathe writing disclaimers, I have to.

<—To the knee-jerk illiterate reactionaries who have gone into cardiac arrest from reading my jingoistic blog entry, for the 588841100256th time, yes, yes, and yes, most of us realize what is WRONG with America. And yes, yes, and yes, most of us realize what YOU’VE done for us as well. But what you Americanophobes do time and time again is forget or refuse to learn what we have ever done right to the point where you think we’ve been a burden on the rest of the world since our birth which couldn’t be farther from the truth. Simply put: In every country, there is good and bad. If you cannot see any country with a balanced view, you are no better than the people you mock.

Hey there. You know I wouldn’t want to be anti-American (We’re getting those fancy new missiles to protect us over here in Poland), just a couple of quick things. Coincidentally had a friend send me this yesterday about inventions we’d all assumed were American: http://greyfalcon.us/restored/Gerrev.htm
And then just a little about the US foreign aid. It is the highest amount of any nation, but really, the per capita amount says a lot more:

It’s a bit old, I know, but at least you beat Canadians in the private giving, look at those Scandinavians! I’m not saying anything bad about the States, but can you imagine if they did what they could?
BTW Hope you got to read my post about how to make this whole election thing go faster: http://www.theendisalwaysnear.blogspot.com
Oh, and do you know I had to register with a wordpress account to post a comment this time?!??
Everyone has to be registered to log in from now on because I get too many trolls coming here with fake email address and writing incoherent comments having very little to do with the topic of my posts.
I would only assume that our per capita hand-outs would be LOW because we are 300+ million people. Think of it like a family. If Family A has 8 children and gives 10 dollars, each family member (10 including the parents) is thought to have given 1 dollar each.
Then Family B gives the same amount and doesn’t have any kids. They are two. They give 10 dollars. On a per capita basis, they are thought to have donated $5 each. If we think of countries like big families, that makes sense. I would only expect that when our government gives hand-outs that on a per capita basis, the US ranks much lower compared to the rest of the world because of how many people we have living here.
As far as private donations are concerned, many think that most Americans are rich, and that is a fallacy. There are just as many rich here as there are in other developed countries – I’d like to bet. Americans have more poverty stricken and homeless compared to other developed countries because of our capitalist and not so very compassionate government. So, as far as private donations are concerned, even if we were to rank #1, we shouldn’t be expected to just because our government is super rich and is holding blazing guns over the rest of the world.
I would like to see more information on us having stolen German patents. There have been many debates over what Americans and Canadians have invented when really it was due to a Scotsman who lived in both the US and Canada. <— There are lots of stories like those. Both my husband and I are history buffs and neither one of us heard that American inventions are mostly hacks? If that is the case, I would like to spread the word. So, I will do some research on it.
Zontar, the all-knowing and all-seeing impartial observer of all things profound and trivial is dumbfounded. Zontar has studied much and thought much. Zontar sayeth America makes no claim upon German inventions. Of course after the war, America invited many German scientists to its fair shores to contribute to American profit. But I don’t know of any source that lays claim that America was the one responsible for these inventions. There is no need for false boasting in the matter of the Soviets or Canadians. Americans have done enough on there own without having to invent fabrications.
Hail Zontar!
