Welcome to my blog

Evening , folks, call me Sonnabend.

I am from Australia. I’ve been asked to step up and help out (you can find my blog here), so here I am…could not think of a better reason to join this team.

What is anti-Americanism?

It’s spitting on the flag, and the memory, of millions who have fought and died for your freedom.

It’s walking over the graves of many young men who sacrificed so you can argue to your hearts content.

It’s taking for granted the freedom and hope we have for the future, bought and paid for by the blood of patriots.

It’s standing under the shade of the Tree of Liberty, and then cursing those who have tended it and made it grow.

One afternoon, Vice President Cheney was talking at a symposium, and was being heckled by a French reporter. Cheney glanced over and asked the question.

“Are you French”? The man said yes.

“Do you speak German?” Cheney snapped back. The man blinked, and then said no.

Cheney replied with a straight face “You’re welcome”.

God Bless the United States of America.

  1. The supposed Cheney quote is a take on an old joke. Did he really say that? Wow!

I took a plane from Boston to Chicago last week. We were taxiing for takeoff at the same time as Cheney was deplaning from Air Force 2. There were several nasty comments about him from inside my plane (eg., “I hope they forget the stairs and he falls to the tarmac.”)

Anti-Americanism is ugly, especially when it comes from Americans!

Just noticed your site, and I think it’s a great idea! Hope you don’t mind if I take a look around and comment….

  2. RE: Greg’s comment:

Are you implying that disliking the vice president is anti-American?

  3. Read the post again.

  4. My comment was regarding what Greg said, not the post.

  5. Heil, Sonnabend.

Te quiero, mi amigo. At last so many years after my death, the son (grandson?) of one of those decadent socialist so-called liberal democracy sees the light. Si, mi hermano, disagreeing with your government or disliking your leaders is unpatriotic. I’ve been saying this all my life and been unfairly criticized for that reason. Just ask a Catalan or a Basque.

I’m glad to see that, in a country with such nice places to build labor camps (Ah, the Western Desert), people recognize and honor my legacy. Too bad you can’t write Spanish. Aznar’s dad (my favorite journalist) would have had a job for you.

    Viva la Muerte!!!
