Waging a War on Anti-Americanism

America at a Crossroads (a love/hate relationship with America)

I’m going to post an entire documentary here. While this is good for the whole world to see, I find it just as important - if not more, for Americans to see. At least for me, it made me appreciate the feelings that Europeans have concerning their relationship with the United States.

Note: If you have any problems getting any of these videos to play, try refreshing the page. If that doesn’t work, click the link above each video so that you can watch it on the Youtube site. Also keep in mind that my feedback about each video will be at the bottom of each one (not the top).

It will take an hour of your time to go through all of these videos, but I cannot begin to stress the importance of this material for those genuinely concerned about America’s relationship with Europe. As much as I’d like Europeans to open their minds a little bit about us, I feel that we, as Americans, should at least try to understand them. This is not to say, however, that I won’t be leaving my usual sarcastic and sassy comments in response to some of the odd misconceptions/distortions they have about Americans. In any event, please watch. It’s certainly an EYE-OPENER!

The Anti-Americans Part I (Click here if you cannot open the video.)

I could never understand how the Americans “overwhelmed” the Europeans (AND the Canadians for that matter) with “burgers and coke”. Aren’t THEY the ones that bought and are still buying into it?

Some notable distortions and hypocrisy here: Notice how the “fake soldiers” are talking about destroying the blacks, yet there are MANY blacks in the US military!! (That was a cheap shot.) Also notice how the French blast the US for being racist, but actually it’s the OPPOSITE that is true. Read about French Racism. Additionally, this article explains the rising bigoted acts against Jews and Muslims in France.

One woman boasts that all the European countries try to get to know other countries in Europe and other cultures, and then discusses how Americans don’t care about the rest of the world. I say this is pure ignorance on her behalf. First off, I wonder how much she knows about the different cultures coast to coast in Asia, Africa, Oceania, South America, North America, and the 23 countries within. Does she know of a world outside Europe? My guess is that she knows just as much about Europe as Americans know about the United States (quite similar in terms of borders!) As many Americans are clueless about what’s outside America, I find it safe to assume the same for Anti-American Europeans. The very fact that they all too often make mistakes when talking about American life, it’s people, it’s history, it’s ‘culture’, shows that these people are nothing more than hypocritical in their criticisms. I explained more, in depth about the misguided views that Anti-American Europeans hold concerning, “Americans that don’t want to learn about the world outside them” in this post.

Could someone please explain to me why everyone thinks that McDonald’s is called, “American food”???

Credits to WebPundit in this video (training Europeans on how to hate America) for saying the following:

“Pretend fast-food is the only kind of food we have. Ignore all regional American cuisine: Cajun, Southwestern, Southern Barbecue. Mmm. Ignore American wines which long ago passed French wines in quality. Ignore the fact that your average middle-size American city has a greater variety of international restaurants than London and Paris combined. Also pretend to be surprised to find out that McDonald stores abroad have greater sales per store than the McDonald’s stores in the US. The last thing you would want to admit is that your countrymen are bigger fans of junk food than Americans. Shhhhhh…..”

There’s a HUGE difference, to me, between “fast food” and “food”. Anybody who cannot see that, is as THICK as the recycled grease that is used to make french fries. *sighs*

I will say, however, that I respect the French’s wish for wanting to be independent of American influence. I don’t see any problem with that at all. If I were French, I’d probably think the same. Let them keep their own culture. Their government has every right to say, “NO”! What’s all the fuss about? They should continue to fight for sovereignty. (The truth is that Canada’s been fighting harder, but that will be another post.) In any event, aren’t they receiving imports from other countries as well? Yes, they are!

Look at America! We receive imports from the ENTIRE WORLD (mainly China). What’s “made in America” anymore these days? American cars are now being built in Mexico! Everybody exports their stuff to us. Look at our current free trade agreements. Does anyone not have any idea how much culture we borrowed from the Europeans aside from being descended from them? Some trivia for you: A great many of our Walt Disney themes were borrowed from EUROPE! But does America feel at a loss of identity because of this? Heck no! In fact, I wish the US would import more European goods over here. And THANK YOU Canada for your Insulin! ;-)

Notice the woman who says,

It doesn’t matter what they try and do, we’re still the best.

Isn’t that ‘kind’ of patriotism an American phenomenon? Or did we invent that and export it to the French and The Canadians?

French live a better life than Americans do.

I’m going to have to agree with this. I do envy them in this respect. Americans who find this “hard to believe”, in my opinion, are a bit stubborn and this reeks of American jealousy because facts are facts, people: The French (or even other nations in comparison to us) *don’t* work anywhere NEARLY as hard as Americans. And I find it odd that some Americans cannot admit to resenting the amount of hard work we do day in and day out with less of a pension to boast about in our senior years. We are *THE* most stressed out nation in the developed world - anything BUT “lazy”. If we act like assholes, that’s probably why. And any American who says that they love working hard is a BOLD-FACED LIAR! Granted, there are some Americans who LOVE their jobs, but they are the minority here.

And WHO taught the French their history? Americans helped out in WWII a little bit more than “a little”. And without the Lend-Lease Act and our blood shed in the war, would the British (and the troops in surrounding countries) have been able to defeat Nazi Germany alone? We’ll never know. Here’s what I do know. We supplied all allied countries with ammunition, tanks, airplanes, trucks, and food even before the Pearl Harbor attacks. Americans have no business tooting their horns as loudly as they do sometimes, and simultaneously, other countries have no right to minimize our efforts.

The Anti-Americans Part III (Click here if you cannot open the video.)

What? Sixty percent of Americans don’t know the alphabet? Brainwashing at its best, no? I’m assuming that this boy is talking about our illiteracy rate. His facts are ridiculously incorrect, hence my creation of, “AMERICA, THE STUPID“. After watching this, I am feeling A LOT better about “America’s crumbling education”.

“…what was reflected was a mix of history, national pride and cultural prejudice.”

I thought that this was only specific to the Americans?

Russia: “The Empire of Evil”

It’s refreshing to me that the Polish are the one country (of a few in Europe) that stands out that doesn’t subscribe to the “blame America first” mentality. They are aware who their past enemies were. They are aware of their history. You cannot say this about a lot of other nations that are predominantly Anti-American. The Anti-American sub-cultures have very limited knowledge about history and the world around them. And if they are aware, they conveniently twist the facts or leave it out of their arguments.

If something would happen here in our country, only America would help us. French? They didn’t help… twice. The Brits? They don’t care. They don’t care about anything except themselves.

These are phrases that are usually pinned to “the Americans” in regards to not caring about anybody but ourselves. This is also interesting in that if an American were to say anything negative about the British or or any other country’s people in this manner, we would be called, “naive”, “nationalistic”, “simplistic”, “arrogant”, “aggressive”, and “blindly patriotic”.

The Anti-Americans Part IV (Click here if you cannot open the video.)

Notice all the American flag waving? I was surprised and wondered to myself if they use the American flag more than Americans. :-) Weight-wise, they don’t seem all too different from the Americans either. Does anybody know why we have such tight immigration when it comes to the Polish? I’d gladly welcome them here since they respect us and appreciate us.

The British find it very difficult to come to terms with the loss of their global dominance. We felt a deep sense of hurt and loss. We used to run the world, and we don’t anymore. So, in order to palliate that insecurity, we tend to run ourselves down too much. And we’re also snooty about the people who DO run the world. - Boris Johnson (Member of Parliament)

This is why I feel that Bush, Iraq, Abu Ghraib, and Gitmo have very little to do with the vehement Anti-Americanism expressed in Britain. Nobody really cares about the victims at the hands of Americans. That’s all just a smoke screen to mask the deep hatred that they’ve had for us since the 18th century. America - right or wrong, we will always be the “enemy”. We will always be “the bad guys”. No matter what.

The Anti-Americans Part V (Click here if you cannot open the video.)

Blair does look like a “lap dog”, doesn’t he? *giggles*

If the idiot just wants a car, a television, and you know, …. selfishness, why should they have interesting politicians?

Did anybody not notice the expensive attire this woman was dressed in as she denounced American people for being materialistic? Don’t we crave the same things in life as do the British? A TV? A car? If anybody can tell me a way to survive in Texas (or most states in America, for that matter) WITHOUT a car, please let me know. I’m all ears. I’m not saying all of the the points this lady made were completely false, I just had to chuckle at her hypocrisy seeing what she was wearing and eating. Remember these people are the wealthy upper middle-class of England. ;-)

International News: “An American man got run over in Frankfort”.

Clearly, these people have never been to America or if they did, did not see our international news here. See, this is where the term, “pseudo-intellectualism” comes from.

“…because often when I experience British people articulate knee-jerk Anti-American sentiments, you do feel like saying to them, but you’re sucking on this tit, and meanwhile you’re punishing the other one.

This is the classic hypocrisy of Anti-Americanism and pretty much the theme in most of my posts regarding this issue.

And just for the record, people, Jerry Springer is 99% fake!! I’m afraid that Europeans and Canadians don’t realize this, and in their heads, make this to be the “Face of America”. We make big enough fools out of ourselves on our own without a camera, thank you very much.

The opera that the British made out of The Jerry Springer Show is just another example of how the UK does have a love/hate relationship with the US. I must also comment that it was brilliantly done and very humorous as well! It’s odd, however, that some Britons didn’t get the irony of it. Aren’t the Americans supposed to be the ones that don’t get British humor?

The Anti-Americans Part VI (Click here if you cannot open the video.)

I was laughing my ARSE off about the Windows spell check. ;-) I’m on their side. This is truly a flaw, and I don’t understand why Microsoft cannot devise a British dictionary option for ALL window’s computers as all other English speaking countries use the British spelling. And I can see their frustration. For that, please accept my apology on America’s behalf!

I hope that you’ve all enjoyed this documentary. I will confess that I secretly have a liking for Europe. :-) If it weren’t for all the hatred toward Americans, I would be a convert. I’d go out of my way to be sure I’d visit Europe before I die. The truth is, I’ve always wanted to travel to Europe, and was even itching to move there at one point (I chose Japan, instead). I have always felt an innate passion for their continent. I say “innate” as I’ve felt this way since I was little. Plus, I share a lot in common with the philosophies that a lot of Europeans hold dearly. There have also been times where I’ve felt misplaced in the US. But after reading this and these links, I’ll probably just visit France, Italy, and Poland before I croak.

Anyway, a BIG THANK YOU to all who’ve been so patient enough to spend more than an hour of your time reading and watching these videos.

I’d gladly welcome them here since they respect us, appreciate us and are willing to work into our system rather than freeload off of us to then spit in our faces.

IF So? Maybe someone will be able to explain - why taking American visa in Warsaw American embassy is so deep humiliating process?
Why visa waiver program for Poles wasn’t pass?

Yeah, that’s just what I was asking! I find it very unfair.
